Keri embraces several therapeutic modalities in her treatment approach, based on her belief that all people learn and respond in different ways. She most commonly utilizes theories based in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Theory (DBT), systems theories and Cognitive Behavior Theory (CBT).
Dr. Kunkel has worked as an acute detoxification physician and served as an advisor to UPMC Health Plan in their creation of guidelines for the treatment of substance abuse. Dr. Kunkel’s varied experiences and work as both a leader and advisor make him a well-rounded, highly qualified, and overall exceptional member of the Silvermist staff.
Allison has experience in grief counseling and brings this knowledge to her work at Silvermist. She also has experience working with dually-diagnosed clients dealing with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder and other mental health diagnoses. Allison has received training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and also has experience in crisis intervention.
Gemma has worked with adults, adolescents, children and families in outpatient, residential and school settings, in addition to the medically-monitored treatment setting. She has experience working with dually-diagnosed clients dealing with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder and other mental health diagnoses.
